About

An AI form editor that shows its work.

Most AI builders hand you a finished thing and ask you to trust it. Vellform is built the other way round: every change is a named operation on a typed schema, and you can watch each one happen.

What it is

Vellform builds and edits forms from a description. You write what you need, and an assistant assembles the questions, the page structure, the conditional logic and the visual theme — then hands you a real editor to change any of it by hand.

The forms it produces are ordinary published pages: they collect responses, save progress as people type, accept file uploads and signatures, and deliver each submission to a webhook, Slack, Discord or a Google Sheet.

It reads before it writes

The assistant has read tools as well as write tools, and its instructions require it to look at the form's current state before changing it. Ask it to delete a question and it checks first whether a logic rule points at that question — because the alternative is a rule silently pointing at nothing.

It edits data, never code

A form is a typed schema. Every change the assistant makes is a named command against that schema — add a field, set a theme token, create a rule. It does not write JavaScript, and nothing it produces is executed. That is a structural property, not a promise: no tool it can call accepts code.

You can see every step

The editor streams what the assistant did as it does it: which tools it called, in what order, with what arguments. When a result surprises you, the transcript is the explanation, and you do not have to take our word for anything.

You are not charged for asking

Credits are metered against work actually done. Opening the editor, reading your form, changing a colour by hand, collecting responses — none of that costs a credit. A run that reads and answers without changing anything costs less than one that rebuilds a page.

The tool inventory shrinks to fit the question

The assistant is not handed every capability on every turn. What you ask determines which tools are even offered, which keeps runs cheap and narrows the blast radius of a misunderstanding — a request to restyle a form is not given the tools to delete its questions.

Respondents' answers stay out of the model

When you ask the assistant to summarise your results, it can read aggregate statistics freely, and raw text from exactly one open-text question at a time. Any question holding a name, an email, a phone number, a file or a signature is refused — in code, not by instruction.

What we have not built

Every product page is a list of what something does. This is the other list, and it is the more useful one when you are deciding whether to depend on us.

  • No custom domains. Forms are served from Vellform.
  • No template marketplace.
  • No security certification. We hold none and we claim none.
  • No published uptime commitment. There is no SLA, so we do not advertise one.

Every plan includes the whole builder — all field types, every theme, conditional logic and the integrations. What a paid plan buys is a larger allowance: more forms, more AI credits, more responses and more storage. You can see the exact figures on the pricing section, and the free plan includes 25 AI credits a month with no card.

Who runs Vellform

Vellform is a small independent product. The operating entity and contact details are on the contact page, and the providers that process data on our behalf are listed in full in the Privacy Policy.
